kernal_task macbook pro 2016 unusable

kernal_task can go as high as 500-1000%, happens randomly, tried all the fixes everyone else has mentioned. Only have the problem on Mojave, not Sierra. Battery says "Service Battery". Wondered if that had anything to do with it. "Service Battery" shows only on Mojave not Sierra

Does anyone have any idea what these console messages mean? Tried googling and found very little on PtASPlugInDevice.

Please run Etrecheck and post its full report here.

This will help us in trying to figure out if there may be a hardware problem (like the battery) or a software conflict.

I mean at this point it could be the battery since it seems only Mojave can recognize something is wrong with the battery.

Does the same thing happen in High Sierra ?

If you close all applications does kernel_task still jump up? Are you using a dock or monitor ? What happens if you disable Automatic Graphics Switching?

The Kernel_Task process is designed to prevent your Mac from over heating. Are the air vents under the monitor clear? Do you hear the fans running high ?
