Logic X help- not recognizing .aif files, regions moving mysteriously

Hello all- i am in serious trouble here with with Logic X. upon opening a fairly large project file that i have been working on every day for the last week, a large number of recently recorded instrument files are not showing up, each one with this message:

"Logic Pro X can’t recognize file “BASS#---.aif”.

Please ensure that the file properties are correct and that it is a supported file type"

then:

"One or multiple audio files changed in length!

As a result, 263 audio regions changed in length or content position."

THEN:

"Logic Pro X found 41 audio files in 8 bit format.

This format is unsupported and cannot be played back."

what the **** is going on??? this happened very abruptly; everything was there and sounding fine just last night. i definitely am not recording 8 bit, and i didn't do anything manually to change any of the regions. ALSO, when i open a previous saved version of this project on an external hard drive, the same thing happens! and the .aif files that can't be read by logic ALSO cant be manually opened by itunes or quicktime. im so baffled. is my version of Logic X glitched or corrupting the files? im running Version 10.3.2 on a 2017 Macbook air with Mac OS Mojave 10.14.2. please help!!!!!

Go Here: Time Machine Backup - Apple Support, Create a Time Machine Backup prior to doing the below, so you can restore from it. Also, restore from a Time Machine Backup it, if you have one made just prior to all of this occurring.

Contact Logitech --- ask for a new license, to restore this installation, if an option. If you don't feel comfortable with doing the below, contact Logitech.

Rebuilding the Spotlight Image: If items have become inaccessible and are jumping around, that may be due to the External Hard Drive you mentioned becoming Misconnected upon usage. So, you would want to rebuild the Spotlight Index. Prior to doing to: Shut down your Mac > Plug the hard drive back in > wait 15 seconds > power on the Mac > login and try once more, leaving the hard drive plugged back in.

sorry Littles, but none of that helps my case. i don't use Time Machine, and i don't think it would help, because the backup that is on the hard drive is malfunctioning as well. i forgot to clarify that i have been running the project on my macbooks hard drive, but saving progress on the hard drive as a supposed failsafe, which clearly is failing on me. also Logitech has nothing to do with LOGIC X, the software in question. spotlight image also has nothing to do with logic x not being able to read .aif files.

Anyone else????

A Logic Board might fail, and that’s happened to me. My 2017 MacBook Pro was faulty. I had the Logic Board replaced 11 times.

I didn’t go about troubleshooting it, as none of my AIF Files ever seemed to be an issue.

My copy and paste got my post Mixed Up with the other post. I put Logic Board in that one, and had that post removed. The host never remove my reply post from this post, though :(

Having purchased an AppleCare+ saved me. So, if this gets fixed, this is a pure example of why to use Time Machine.

Best of Luck.
