I have an older iPod (model MB748LL), and an Apple Music subscription. I can not seem to get the iPod to download any of the newer Apple Music material. I'm only able to download the old iTunes purchased. Any suggestions? It appears my Apple Music is set-up correctly - I think?!
Correct. Apple Music content can only be used on a device able to check that your subscription remains active. It is not available on older devices.
