Problems with SMTP servers in Apple mail

I am using Mojave. In icloud two icloud smtp servers appear, one offline. That is the one the server seems to select. How do I remove it?

I have several gmail accounts but not all have correct smtp settings. I tried to create a new profile but it reverts to the profile for another account

Please help

Thank you

  1. Open Mail
  2. Open Preferences
  3. Click on Accounts
  4. Click on the account in question
  5. Click on server settings
  6. On the "Outgoing Mail Account" there should be a drop down menu. Click to get the drop down menu.
  7. Select "Edit SMTP Server list" from that drop down menu.
  8. Click on the SMTP server that you want to delete and then click on the "-" (minus) button to remove it.
