When I switch my Apple ID, do I lose all photos associated with that ID? They are removed from my device and stay in the cloud or get deleted? Is there a way to incorporate photos from one ID, to the new one?

If you mean that you are wanting to change the email address that you use as your Apple ID, you can use the following procedure and not lose anything associated with the prior email address: Change your Apple ID - Apple Support
The photos should stay in iCloud. When you go to switch IDs, make sure you have full resolution photos on the device. When signing out of iCloud, if asked whether you want to retain data, choose yes.
You can create a shared album with one Apple ID and then invite the other the other ID.
Having more than one Apple ID is rarely a good idea. There can be reasons to do it, but if you aren't certain as to why you are doing it, you may want to post a question or reply to see if there is an alternative.
That is new info that I was not aware of, but in this case I was meaning a complete switch to a whole new Apple ID, not one that’s an alias to the prior one. Thank you
