Connecting to iTunes iPhone 6

I am trying to connect my iPhone to my PC to restore a backup.

When I connect I get the error message "iTunes could not connect to this iPhone. An unknown error occurred (0xE800001C)"

I have connected to this PC previously to create the backup.

PC is Windows 10 Pro - iTunes Version 12.9.5.7

iPhone 6 Software version iOS 12.3.1 with no updates available.

Has anyone go any ideas?
