Cutting titles from .mov files in iMovie

Is is possible to use iMovie to edit out titles in .mov files? Or do I need to convert the files to something else to be able to do this? I don't have access to the raw projects.

Hi,

Generally, there is no way to revert a .mov file back into its project components once the file has been rendered.

However, you could create an iMovie project and import the .mov file into it as one large clip, and do some limited editing. For example, if the titles were on a black background or some other background, as opposed to being overlayed on the video clip itself, you could cut out the black background titles throughout the movie. If the titles were overlayed onto the video itself, it is still possible that you could cut them out if you felt that it would not significantly impair the video. Perhaps you would lose 4 seconds or so of the clip. It might not make any difference. You could also overlay a background or photo over a title, or overlay a piece of some other clip in the movie.

So, there are some options.
