Audio in Files App stops when closed

I’ve noticed that when plying an audio file in the files app the audio will stop if the app is exited or the phone is locked. In prior releases of ios12 this was not the case. Can anyone please advise if there is a workaround for this?

Audio pausing every few seconds Doesn’t seem to matter what app it’s with my audio pauses after 1-2 seconds of playing. I generally listen to music/podcasts at work and can’t. Yes I’ve restarted the phone. iPhone 11 on the latest OS
