iPhone doesn't reconnect to WiFi after screen sleeps.

I will be connected to WiFi, but after the screen sleeps, an unspecified number of minutes passes, I unlock my phone and the WiFi is disconnected. I then have to manually connect from the Settings > WiFi. I have had this issue the last 2 weeks. At no point has it remained connected, unless I have music playing in the background, even if that music is stored locally.

iPhone 8 Plus, iOS 12

Is this your home wi-fi, in other words, a network that you have control over and does not require any additional login, like a captive wi-fi network?

What troubleshooting have you tried? You may want to connect to the network, then go into wi-fi, select the network, and then Forget the Network. That will force it to allow you to log in again. Log into the network again and test. If it still does not work correctly, then on the iPhone, go to Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings. Then power off the router, wait about 30 seconds and then power it back on again. Once it is through booting up, attempt to connect to the wi-fi on the phone again. Once you have logged in, let the phone go back to sleep, then you can try waking it up and see if the wi-fi connects again.

I apologize for not replying... I can't seem to find my previous posts without clicking through the email notification.

I was using WiFi where I work. It ended up being something simple, every time I connected the 'auto-join' was turned off. I restarted my phone, connected, and then turned it back on and it finally kept. Before restarting with 'auto-join' enabled it kept disabling itself when I disconnected while my phone was sleeping.
