my MAC8.1 wont link messages with my iphone

my Mac used to send and receive messages through my iPhone; however on my last phone replacement this no longer occurs.

however it does work on my Macbook?

iMac, OS X 10.11

You may get better and prompt responses if you may kindly provide the iPhone Model that you have and the iOS version if it is known to you.

Please use the same Apple ID and Activate iMessage on your iPhone and the on the iPhone Settings > Message > Text Message Forwarding > [Select your Mac]
