MacOS Update 10.14.6 not working

I just finished downloading the new Mac OS update 10.14.6 but when I click on 'Update Now' it says "Unable to verify software update." What seems to be the problem? I checked my internet connection and it's working fine. I also restarted my Macbook Pro 2018 but it's still showing the same message.

Any idea what's going on here?

Give this a try. Check and make sure that you do not have "Install macOS Mojave.app" in your Applications Folder. If you do have it drag it to the Trash and enter your administrative password to trash it. If no Mojave installer is in your Applications Folder then that is good. Now download the entire macOS 10.14.6 installer from the App Store and see if it opens. If it opens then run it. If it fails try installing in Safe Mode.

I suspect it was a connection, bandwidth or firewall issue for me. I have a MacBook Pro that is only a month old, with 32GB RAM and a 1TB hard drive (it's only 20% full). I could not get the update to work either at the hotel where I was staying, or at the office (where I measured up- and download speeds of 300MB / sec). I arrived home this weekend and the update worked instantly (I have a very robust connection here - 500MB / sec both up and down).

I have the same issue. I have downloaded the combination updater, which fails as it does for fasb43. I have started from Safe Boot, disconnected all external drives, don't have Install macOS Mojave.app anywhere on the internal drive; I have run Disk Utility, which finds no errors, and zapped the PRAM. Nothing helps.

This is with an almost brand-new Mac Mini running 10.14.5, with over 200 GB available on the internal drive. I have been trying for several days, at different times of the day, just in case it was the server; nothing makes any difference.
