iCloud breach phone call

My mom just a call saying someone over seas was trying to log into her iCloud account are these calls real or is it a scam? Luckily I answered the phone so no information was given, but need to know if real or scam!!

Such calls are scams from criminals trying to steal your personal and financial information. Hang up on them, repeatedly if needed.
