QuickTime opens old file when launched and then freezes

Every time I open QuickTime (version 10.4) on my MacBook Pro running MacOS High Sierra 10.13.3 it opens an old video file that I no longer have and then freezes and I have to force quit. It's driving me insane. Any suggestions for how to fix would be much appreciated.

Hold down the shift key while launching QuickTime.
