iPhone & Digital AV adapter

I'm a cake decorator and I have a Pico (pocket) projector that I connect to my iPhone to project images, wording and other fun stuff onto my cake & cookie projects. I have only had the projector for about 4-months now and it's super easy to use (plug and go). Last week, any image I was trying to project with the HDMI port would not project. I could download an image onto a thumb drive and insert it in the projector but anything I was just trying to "plug & go" with my iPhone wouldn't work. I ran to the store and bought a new Digital AV adapter (Apple brand), I had a brand new HDMI cord here (tried switching it), read the manual on my projector and I seriously thought my new projector went bad. I was almost in tears. My husband walked into the bakery and handed me his iPhone and said "try using mine". I took the Digital AV adapter out of my phone and plugged it into his phone and BOOM … his home screen was projecting on my cookie. I stayed up all night finishing my sugar cookies with his phone so he had it the next day for work BUT I need to be able to use mine again. So please help me. I must have bumped, turned off or switched some kind of setting on MY phone that this just stopped working for me. Does anyone have an answer to what I may have done that it works with my husbands phone but not mine (and it was working just fine for 3 months). Thank you for any suggestions!!!

That is actually what it is - a PICO PROJECTOR Model P1. No other manufacturer on the box (which I have) or the projector itself.

OK. That's helpful. The closest thing I can find is the aaxa P1 Pico. However, that's a long discontinued model and the photos I see of it show it attached to an iPhone 4S with a Dock connector.

It might be something else. Did it come with a user guide or anything? It sounds like it's extremely generic. P1 with Pico Projector generates a lot of different results in a web search. Now there's this DLP cube projector that seems to come in various brand names. Does it look like a small cube?

Still - it sounds like it's an automatic conversion from HDMI to the projected output, so maybe you don't need to set up anything other than the adapter.

No, mine isn’t cube shaped. Its flat and will slip into your pocket. Similar size to a cell phone but a bit thicker.

The projector is working with other devices. My husband and I both have an iPhone 8. It works when I plug into his phone but the projector isn’t working with my phone. It also works with our iPad and both of my kids iPhones. It seems to be a problem on my phone only. This is a new problem because it was working for the last few months and suddenly stopped. I think I changed a setting on my phone or shut something off that it’s not reading through the HDMI connector (I already bought a new HDMI and new connector).
