Recently my iPhone X has started to overheat almost constantly, even during minimal use of iMessage or internet browsing. It gets so hot that I have experienced multiple burns after accidentally touching the front screen of camera screen. After contacting apple support I restarted the phone and reset to factory settings with no improvement. Any suggestions for further things to try??

The next step is to schedule an appointment with the genius bar and take it in to the nearest Apple store. Assuming a reset to factory settings mean you restored as new and not from backup.
