activation lock on apple watch with account no longer running

my grandad passed away and now his email and apple account doesn't work and i was given the apple watch but the activation lock is on, i have the details but i can't log into the account to remove the apple watch from his account because the apple account and email address no longer exists but everything is still connected. is there any way i will be able to get into the watch to connect it to my phone so i can now use it?

Supply Apple with it, its purchase receipt, his death certificate, and proof that you're its legal owner.
