Recently closed tabs function not working

This morning I managed to close about a half dozen open tabs by accident. I tried engaging the function to restore them but it does not work. I open Safari, and tap on the Tabs icon on the bottom right. Then I press and hold the "+" sign and nothing happens. This should open a new screen with my recently closed tabs but it just does not.

I tried a complete close of Safari, and also rebooted the phone. It's just not responding, Any tips?

Hi MGarbowski,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities. I understand you're not able to access the "Recently Closed Tabs" screen in Safari.

From your profile, it looks like you're using an iPhone X, which supports 3D Touch. To clarify, are you lightly touching the + sign, or are you pressing like you would to use 3D Touch? The "Recently Closed Tabs" screen should appear if you lightly touch and hold rather than press, so give that a try to see if it helps: Use tabs in Safari on iPhone

To look at another possibility, have you noticed any touch issues with that part of the display when using any other apps? If so, this might help: Get help with the display on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch

I also recommend making sure that you're running iOS 12.4 under Settings > General > About. If you're not, here's How to back up your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch and Update your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

I hope these steps help you. Have a great day.
