MacOs keyboard shortcuts

To make a user customised shortcut you need to write exact menu text, but sometimes it is not easy:

"Safari ⎯ iOS 12.1.3 - iPhone"

Does anybody know what this "--" before the word iPhone name is?

(or what its character code?)

It is definetely too long for "minus" sign.

Hello CheGiwera,

Thank you for using the Apple Support Communities. If I understand correctly, you have a question about a specific character you're seeing.

It looks like what you're referring to is an em dash, and you can use these on a Mac by holding Shift + Option and then pressing the - key on the top row of your keyboard.

I hope I've answered your question. Take care.
