Touch not working with screen protector on and "wrist detection" enabled

I'm surprised this is still an issue. I bought a new screen protector couple of days ago and after putting it, my watch did not detect every touch. I had to press really hard for the screen to respond. I thought the problem was the glass, so I went back to the shop and bought another glass which was the most expensive and high quality they had. They put the screen protector and handed the watch to me to try if it's okay - I tried it before putting it on my wrist and the watch was acting normally. But 10 mins later after putting it back on my wrist I noticed that the problem was on again.

So I went online and found this: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/8072541

and this: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/8079749

I did disable the wrist detection and the watch is now acting normally, but we all know how big of a drawback this is. Those threads are from 2 years ago, and this is still a problem?! I am amazed.

Does Apple want us to pay for a new display every time we scratch it... We are not able to enjoy the full potential of this amazing watch if we want it to remain flawless...

Yes it does work. It also works perfectly with the screen protector on and "wrist detection" turned off. I tried two different screen protectors, the second one very high quality, and they are both problematic?! Plus reading all this comments from two years ago makes me wonder if the problem really is the screen protector, in fact every screen protector all those people bought?

Idris is correct. It is the responsibility of the third party accessory manufacturer to ensure compatibility in all usage modes with the primary product (or at least document incompatibilities), and for the user to ensure they only select accessories which work. If your watch is working correctly without the screen protector stuck on its face then the watch is Working As Designed and it is not Apple’s problem.
