Airplay capable of transmitting 4k HDR content to tv?

Hi, I don't have an Apple TV but my LG C9 tv just received the Airplay 2 update. I just tried to Airplay stream an HDR mkv file to my C9 but the "HDR" mode didn't enable on the tv. Is Airplay not capable of streaming the HDR content or do I have to use certain settings or a different player on my Mac computer in order to get it to work? Maybe it's not even possible but wanted to check. LG's website says it's capable to Airplay Dolby Vision content. The question is how do I get Airplay to actually send the HDR or Dolby Vision data to the tv so those viewing modes are enabled? Playing the file from a usb drive plugged into the tv works just fine and HDR is enabled.
