Hi I can no longer access the special characters when I press and hold the character key.....
How can I restore this function?
I tried to switch off the repeat key, and rebooted my system - non worked so far....
OS 10.13.6
iMac Line (2012 and Later)
Run this command in the Terminal…
defaults write -g ApplePressAndHoldEnabled -bool true
Hmmm, try resetting NVRAM.
I tried again and reboot - this time it worked!

Thanks - but this didn't solve the problem. I just tried it twice.
You're welcome. My fault. You have to at least log out after the command. Restarting would work as well.
