iPhone 5s 12.4 update difficulties

I lost my network provider and internet connection on my 5s when I received a 12.4 update notification. I have tried installing it as described on all the forums but it just keeps alerting me that I have no internet connection. I have removed the update 3 times and downloaded it again but the same message appears. I am away from home at the moment and I am using my iPad. Does anyone have any suggestions. Thanks

Hi

i have been told it’s because I am in another country and when I downloaded the update my phone cannot find my original network operator. I was also told the problem will be resolved when I return home. I will have to wait until the weekend to find out if this is useful information or whether I was fobbed off by the technician

sorry I couldn’t be more helpful

Hi, I took my 5s phone into an Apple store today. They had to reset my phone (make sure you back it up first), then install the 12.4 software by connecting my phone to one of their Macs, then restore my media / apps etc. from my backup after the phone had been re-set. Took a while, but I am now up and running again. Very annoying. Good luck.
