Is it bad to leave my iPhone 8 charging overnight? Secondly i used my phone almost half as much during July and charged it the same overnight and the battery health lost 10% capacity, is this due to overnight charging?

No, it's not bad to leave it charging overnight. In fact, it's best practice. If your phone is charging, connected to WiFi and the screen is locked, it will automatically back up to iCloud and be ready to go in the morning.

Shouldn’t be a problem. The system is designed to prevent overcharging. It doesn’t continuously charge to full, although it’s kind of technical.
The battery health is an estimate and doesn’t get updated all the time. It could be something totally unrelated.
