Battery Recall not enough

battery recall why would they not replace the entire computer. An overheated processor slows down and operates less efficiently, constant overheating and running hot and shut downs put added wear and tear on my computer. acknowledging their fault means my computer prematurely ages and damage is obviously the fault of Apple who acknowledged they used faulty batteries that can actually destroy the machine. Then it has been wearing out the computer prematurely ? Replace my mac book not just put a bandaid on the problem with a new battery, the damage has already been done.
