Disappearing July 2019 data in Numbers.

All my July 2019 data disappears when i turn on categories in numbers. I am organising by month to do a count. I tried adding a row and type in 1/8/19 which shows fine, I then added another row and type 1/7/19 and it disappears. I turn off and on Categories and still gone. I tried pasting the july data in, one column over, and it stays, and is categorised as blank from the empty column. But WHat the heck! I'm lucky I noticed this.

Hi Sangreet,

I suspect the 'dates' that are missing are not Date and Time values, and are being seen as text values by Numbers. That would explain then disappearing form smart categories, and sorting wrongly when the table is sorted by date.

Check the data format setting on those cells, and reset it i necessary, then reenter the dates if nothing changes.

Barry

When I enter text values (by default left-aligned) along with true date-time values (by default right-aligned) in the date column they don't "disappear" when I add a Category on that column. They're just in a different category. I'm using Numbers 6.1. Perhaps you and Barry are using an old version instead?

As posted above, I suggest posting a screenshot of what your table looks like.

And a further thought: make sure you have turned off filters. Any active filters could make data "disappear."
