Finger print for password

I got a new iphone because my battery was bad. I used my finger print for my notes, I never had a password. Now when I try to open my notes it is asking for a password, how do I open my notes?

Yes, you did have a password. it's not possible to turn on Touch ID without setting a passcode first.
