Finger print for password

I got a new iphone because my battery was bad. I used my finger print for my notes, I never had a password. Now when I try to open my notes it is asking for a password, how do I open my notes?

null I locked two notes. I only ever used a fingerprint to access these notes. My iPhone does not now give me the option to use the fingerprint and wants a password which I am sure I never set. Is there any way I can get into these notes without a password?

Cannot open locked notes after updating IOS I recently updated my iPhone 8 from IOS 12 to 13, I had notes that were locked with a fingerprint and my 4 digit pin. After updating, it requires a password and doesn’t allow the use of my fingerprint. My Apple ID password or pin won’t work.

Yes, you did have a password. it's not possible to turn on Touch ID without setting a passcode first.
