So I just bought this macbook 2 weeks ago (newest macbook pro 13 inch) and every once in a while there will be a flicker across the screen in the middle and it will be gone in a flash. Is this my computer or the OS????? really don't want to have any more problems, I bought this one after my last macbook's screen cracked randomly on its own.

Many other users (myself included) have reported similar behavior from their 2019 MacBook Pro. Try turning off True Tone and "Automatically adjust brightness" in System Preferences -> Displays, see if the problem persists. I did this about a week ago and haven't experienced the flickering ever since.
Even if this takes care of the problem for you, though, I would suggest contacting Apple about it. It's really important that they look into it and fix it in a future software update (if it is indeed a software problem, which I'm guessing it is). Besides, not being able to use True Tone and auto-brightness on a brand new machine is quite unacceptable.
That’s absolutely scandalous. It seems to be an ongoing issue with MacBooks. Mine is an older model with an expired warranty so it’s only good for the dump. I’m only holding on to it just Incase some sort of solution to the problem is identified. I would recommend you to return it if you can.
It's stated again for me as well. While updating. Last time they asked me to ship my Mac and replaced the screen. This time again same thing happening. I don't understand whats going on. After fixing the issue still same re produced, Are they are really doing something or just playing shipping - shipping.
Does any have idea, why this thing happening and what should i do the make sure , it's not going to happen again. As it's going to very difficult after support period expire ?
Did you receive confirmation that the screen was replaced? I've sent mine in 4 times the the screen flickering. They did nothing 3 of the 4 times. They promised to replace the screen the last time, and did NOT. I didn't receive paperwork, called and the rep couldn't answer what had been fixed, so I didn't not find this out until I tried to send it in again recently.

I have the same issue with my new Macbook Pro 13 (2019). I had reset NVRAM but the problem recurred.
here you can see in a slow mo caption a black slit travels horizontally up to bottom.
I tried turning off True Tone and it just flashed again. That didn't seem to make a difference.
YES!!!!! This has happened to me every single day since buying my new MacBook Pro laptop 3 weeks ago.... So frustrating!

Try updating to Catalina if you haven't already. My sister said that she hadn't seen issues with her laptop after updating - though not sure if the issue has come back again.
I have the same problem. For me, the flickering is most common while streaming video on all kind of streaming platforms. Have tried resetting nvram but makes no difference.

This just started happening on my 2019 MBP 13" with touch bar, looks exactly the same as the photos posted on this thread. Pretty frustrating.
I have the exact same problem now with my MacBook Pro 2019 15. Did everything based on apple care suggestions including reinstall the OS.

Question to all of you who have reported this problem here: did you get it fixed by Apple? Or did they do nothing about it?
