Apple Card Information - Account Services Unavailable

I applied for and was approved for the Apple Card. It's in my Wallet, I've used it and linked my bank account to it. I received the physical card and activated it.

Ever since I've had it, I've tried to go into the "Card Information" section of the Apple Card in my Wallet in order to get my card number and security code. Every time I try, I get a message stating "Account Services Unavailable - Apple Pay services are currently unavailable. Please try again later". No matter how often I try, I get the same message.

I've contacted Apple Support and they've opened a case. They've verified that I have all of the appropriate settings, iOS 12.4, etc. They seem to be having a hard time coming up with a solution.

Has anyone had this issue? Any solutions? Thanks!

Solution:

Remove the Apple card by going to the Settings>wallet>Apple card>Remove card

it will warn you that this may impact your ability to manage the account. But don’t worry Apple card is linked to you icloud account so you can re add it.

Re-adding the Apple card will solve the issue.

I had to add my card in twice in order to resolve. So I effectively have two "copies" of the same apple card in my wallet.

I added it once, then without removing, I pressed the "+" sign in the upper right, and the card was an option to add in again, I followed instructions to add it. Now I can see the number on the SECOND copy of the card, but not the first.

If I remove either from my wallet I lose the ability to see the number/information.

A very inelegant and “un-Apple” like solution, but adding the Apple Card a second time to my Wallet app allows me to now see the Card Information section on my original Apple Card addition. The second/new card just sits in my Wallet and can’t be used, but if that’s what it took in the short term then at least I can access the info. I’m guessing it’s a software glitch and surely can’t be what Mr Cook intended, but it worked.

No, it only adds the card to your wallet a second time. Just hit the “+” in your Wallet app and the Apple Card should be offered as a selection to add, almost as if it wasn’t already in there. It’s the same card you’ve already got and you’re not applying for it again. When you do this, it should allow you to access the “Card Information” for your Apple Card.

I hope that helps....

I have this issue. When I originally set up my Apple Card I did not have this issue and could see my card number in the ‘Card Information’. About a week ago I had to reset my iPhone and reinstall my cards in Wallet and that is when this problem stated for me.

When I went to ‘Card Information’ to get my card number and details to use the card number manually I received the error, ‘Account Services Unavailable. Apple Pay services are currently unavailable. Please try again later.’

I have an open case and the support representative was very nice and told me this is a ‘known issue’ and ‘Apple engineers are aware and working on it’. However, she did not have any suggested workarounds. She took my information and had me reset my phone and do several steps but nothin worked. She then set up a call with me a week later to follow back up.

After reading these posts I tried to add the card a second time and I now have two Apple Cards in my wallet ... And it works now! I can see the manual card number in ‘Card Information’ on both Apple Cards. However, one card reads ‘this card cannot be used. Remove this card and try adding it again’. This card that is not usable remain the standard white color and does not have purchase details on it (but I can see my ‘Card Information’. The other card has the colors from my purchase categories and is completely usable and I can see all my purchase information, etc.

...For me the two card ‘work around’ is successful and the unusable card is the card that iCloud will repeatable install when I try to add cards into my Wallet.

My ‘guess’ is somehow the backend systems have associated the card details and my iPhone serial number and SEID (the support representative asked a few times about my SEID) and that ‘original’ card configuration is needed in Wallet to see the card details in Card Information.

Anyway, workaround with having two Apple Cards in Wallet worked for me.

Hope this helps others.

I too have been having this problem. Tried everything; resetting phone, removing card, even DFU restore and nothing worked. Called Apple and opened a case, and it was assigned to the engineers. The nice lady there has been really helpful. She called today and had me try some things. First was removing the card and re-adding it (I knew this wasn't going to work but tried it anyways) and it failed. The second was singing out of iCloud on the device and then resigning back in. Pain in the butt but I did it anyways. After resigning back in and adding the Apple Card, the card information menu still wouldn't work. Same old error message. So I let my phone sync back up with iCloud, and it took about to 20 mins. When I went to re-add the my other cards that are in my wallet, I noticed it the Apple Card was listed again... even though it was already added. So I decided why not, I'll add it again. Sure enough, when I opened my wallet, there were two apple cards. One showed my balance and everything, the other Apple Card said "Unavailable". But interestingly, I was able to access the card information for both card! They both have the same number and everything, it's just the one that says "Unavailable" doesn't have a device ID where as the real one does..

Whats more interesting is when I tried to remove the "Unavailable" card, I was no longer able to access the card information.

Anyways, I screenshotted my information and can now use it for online purchases which is all I care about. It's definitely a software bug, hopefully it'll be fixed soon.
