Just got free trial version. Total newb. Using sample clip of talking head with bad audio to learn. I separated audio, applied editing (got decent results for basically unsalvageable audio). Now what do I do to continue editing the video—reattach to make cuts and trim sections? TIA
You've completely detached the audio from the video. If you select both video and audio and use the blade function, Cmd-B, you'll cut both the video and audio in sync. You can also combine the video and audio together into a compound clip, Opt-G, which make make it easier to work with, depending on what you have to do in the project.
Just to add, detaching the audio is not necessary if you want to EQ it. Simply add the effect or use the controls in the Audio inspector, while the video and audio are combined. There are very few instances where you really need to detach the audio.

Difficult to did what you did and where you did it. Did you edit the clip into a project and edit the audio there? Did you open the clip into the timeline and edit it there? If the first, then you just keep editing your project. If the second, then the clip is still a container and you edit with it like any other clip.

It sounds like you put it into a project. You just keep editing. Add more clips to the project, titles, whatever, and then export the edited project.
Wow thx for quick reply. Forgive me, not even quite sure of the appropriate terminology. I brought clip into timeline. Separated audio. Edited audio and did a little color correction on the entire audio and video clips.

So if I make a cut and trim to remove unwanted section in the video, the audio will change with it?

Normally when you cut video it cuts the audio with it, but I have to see what you've done. If you can't post a screenshot here, try loading it somewhere else and posting a link.
