Random Ipad Pro ‘11 screen crack

My 4 months old 11 inch iPad Pro screen cracked on its own couple days ago, i was on the flight and my ipad with its cover was lying in a seat pocket almost all the time during flight. After that i noticed one single crack on the right top corner and i wonder that can i receive a warranty repair? It has no impact point anywhere on its body (so it wasn't dropped) and display works perfectly fine (its just glass cracked). Thanks!

If it’s a single hairline and there’s no impact signs, then it certainly sounds like a possible successful warranty claim. But there is the “I know it when I see it” where at least anyone here could say don’t bother depending on what it looks like.

Understand that Apple doesn’t repair iPads. Or they do, but just not the way most people think of repair. Their entire repair model is just replacement. Covered under warranty, it’s of course free. But the data needs to be backed up because if they do the replacement they expect that the customer has properly backed it up and can restore from the backup.

Of course they do repair iPads that have been exchanged, but it’s at central facilities and for future use as replacement or retail refurbished devices.

Hi DMT_101,

You won’t have to worry if you had purchased AppleCare(2 years warranty), did you? You can check with Apple Technicians regarding this crack screen issue & AppleCare warranty.

You can easily contact Apple Technicians through Apple Support app. Did you install Apple Support App?

1st, open Apple Support App.

2nd, tap on your iPad with the name which is chosen by you when you first created Apple ID.

3rd, tap on repairs and physical damage

4th, tap on show more

5th, scroll down until you see crack screen or display, tap on it.

6th, then there will be support options which you can reach Apple Technicians, right now I can see 2 options at my side: 1) Talk to us now or 2) Schedule a call (whatever support options available will depend on which time u use this Apple Support App)

7th, just choose 1 of the support options which you find the most comfortable, that’s it.

Hope these helps.
