Whenever it gets wet and there's no way to perform a backup, you need to consider what Apple will or won't do. They don't do anything for an iPhone simply to do data recovery. They don't fix anything on a board there's damage to the board. Pretty much any water damage is treated as a full device replacement for a fee. And under no circumstances does Apple accept any liability for any data if they wipe a device or the if they replace it and keep the damaged device.

Now there could be different reasons why the screen isn't responding. It could just be the screen is damaged. It could be other components. However, if the liquid contact indicators turned red, Apple will refuse to replace the screen. Your case is one where I think that third party repair is worth considering, as the photos and other data may be more valuable to you than a replacement iPhone 6. And in any case, the price that Apple charges ($299 plus tax in the US) for a replacement isn't really in line with how much an iPhone 6 is worth at this time.

I can't give you any specific recommendations, but the internet is a good resource for finding out competent repair places. Just understand that once it's gotten that wet it's unlikely that any repair will last long term. A lot of places that do those sort of repairs only state that they'll do it to recover data. There could be corrosion, and even after cleaning if off that corrosion could come back.

If your iPod Touch, iPhone, iPad or iWatch is Broken

Apple does not usually fix iDevices except for screens – iPhone Screen Repair & Replacement - Official Apple Support – and minor work they can do in their shop. Instead, they exchange yours for a refurbished or new replacement depending on the age of your device and refurbished inventories. On rare occasions when there are no longer refurbished units for your older model, they may replace it with the next newer model. You may take your device to an Apple retailer for help or you may call Customer Service and arrange to send your device to Apple: You can make an appointment at the Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar and take it in for service. You can also look for an Apple Store - Find a Store - Apple. You will find respective repair costs from the appropriate link:
