Hi, sorry if this is a dumb question... I recently bought a 3rd generation iPod (2003). I'm not too keen on operating it. Can it go to sleep with the music playing in the background like on an iPhone or iPod touch, or does it continually stay on? Does this affect the battery?
I know about the lock button and all, but I dunno, something about the screen and controls constantly being on makes me nervous.
Use Settings > Backlight to control how long the screen stays active after you've used the controls.
There is no sleep timer, but if repeat isn't engaged then the device will play to the end of the current album, playlist, etc. and then stop.
