MacBook Pro keeps disconnecting from USB C Monitor
I have a new 2019 MacBook Pro which is connected to 2 Samsung S24H850 24" WQHD (USB C) Monitors. One via a USB C to USB C cable and the other via a Charjen Pro USB C Hub to HDMI cable.
After about an hour of using the machine for various tasks (web browsing, video editing, sound production and photo editing and illustrations) the USB C cable gets disconnected from my MacBook Pro and then reconnects a second or two later.
Here are some of the things I think it might be but can not confirm:
- MacBook Pro disconnects to from power (the USB C monitor in this case) when it reaches certain power limits/levels of charging.
- The USB C cable I'm using that came with the monitor is not good enough to transfer the power required.
- The monitor isn't capable of transferring the power required to the MacBook Pro.
- The machine gets overly hot when watching videos and begins to have this issue (leads me to believe it's a MacBook issue not the external hardware).
I've tried plugging in my power brick at the same time as my USB C monitor and the issue persists also.
I just want to know if anyone else has this specific issue and if they have found a way to fix it?
You can view this youtube link to see how it functions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w1ILDeddSSs
Any help with this would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jamie
