I cannot install windows migration assistant on my PC. I keep getting a message to Close out certain windows which are already shut down. I have installed and uninstalled the migration assistant many times.

To resolve any issues you’re having installing Windows Migration Assistant, please restart your computer and follow the steps listed under ‘Before you begin’ from the following article:

Move your data from a Windows PC to your Mac

This includes steps like ensuring Windows is completely up to date and more. Also, turn off any antivirus software on your PC. These kind of applications can cause issues with the migration as well.

You might try activating Task Manager and see if any of the names of the windows appear as a process in the list of processes.

If you can tie one to something, you might try killing that process and try to install.

If you have any anti-virus running, perhaps you can disable it while you try to install.
