How do I disable voice control/calling on bluetooth devices?

I have voice control turned off, but it still gets activated via bluetooth headphones. And sometimes the phone even makes calls. I'm just trying to avoid calling people unintentionally because I sat on a bluetooth speaker or touched my air pods the wrong way. Depending on who it is and what the relationship is/was that can be incredibly stressful and there's got to be a better solution than scrubbing anyone Im currently not in touch with from contacts.

Pls help, thx.

Hey jawns,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities! I understand how important it is to be confident that you're not accidentally making any calls. I am happy to help look into options to resolve this for you.

Based on the information you shared, it sounds like your AirPods are activating Siri, and then through Siri a call is being made. Is there correct? If that's the case, try changing what the double-tap feature of your AirPods does. You can se more about that, and how to change that setting here: Adjust the settings of your AirPods

Let us know if that's not what's happening, or if that doesn't help resolve this. We'll go from there.

Thanks again, and have a great day!

I was under the impression Siri was turned off considering I don't use it and thus never intentionally don't set it up. But after looking again it seems Siri has become omnipresent throughout the device and its features.

And the AirPods aren't actual Apple products - they're knockoffs and don't have the same menus. But with that said, it is a universal bluetooth issue – this happens with various bluetooth speakers, other earbuds, etc.

The easiest way to get around this seems to turn off voice control all together, but I cant find a toggle for that anywhere. It is turned off for the side button, but I cant find a toggle to turn it off for bluetooth devices – does that not exist? Seems like a miss...

Anyway, today I turned off "Siri & Suggestions" for contacts within the "Siri & Search" menu. Hopefully that will prove itself to be a workaround, but if you have any other thoughts, please let me know. Thx.
