How to delete live photo video.

I have a large number of photos in my camera roll as well as lots of synced folders.

The problem is the large amount of space the video part of live photos takes up on photos I don't want to use this function on. It's a hassel to turn this on and of all the time.

And from what I can see there is no option to delete the video part from live photos, you can only disable it on photos, but this can be reversed so it's not freeing up any space.

Using apps like lean work, but then the order of the pictures are messed up in the camera roll.

The only way I've found out is to disable live photo on each photo then send it to another iPhone using Airdrop. This strips out the video.

So I could to this with all of the 5000 pictures and then send them back to the original iPhone, but this would take a LOT of work.

Is there a simpler way of deleting the live photo videos?.

Hello and welcome to Apple Support Communities, MacBain!

I understand you don't want to use Live Photos on your iPhone. I'd be happy to show you how to turn this off.

Have a look at the steps in the following article: Take and edit Live Photos

"Live Photos is on by default. If you want to take a still image instead, tap the Live Photos button  to turn off Live Photos. You can preserve your Camera settings so that Live Photos is always on or off. Go to Settings > Camera > Preserve Settings."

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
