Want to give old iphone to child

Hello,

My wife got a new iPhone recently and we want to give her old iPhone 5s to our 10 yo daughter. The phone will have WiFi access only (no cellular). We have a family iCloud account set up but cannot get the 5s to switch to daughter's iCloud. The phone will not accept it. What do I do?

Also, what is the best strategy for family iCloud for our family of three? We wish to share resources but I don't necessarily want what appears on my iPhone to appear on my daughter's iPhone or iPad. Thanks in advance!

Have your wife do the steps in the article below before giving the phone to your daughter.

Selling/Giving Away Device

To not share data, each person needs to use their own Apple ID.

Have you considered setting up Family Sharing to share purchases?
