Why does my iPad keep losing connection to iTunes when restoring?

Hey peeps,

My uncle gave me his OLD iPad. I erased and reset all of his data.

The ipad will not connect to any WiFi network on setup (when I press the network it asks for the password but there’s no visible keyboard to type it in) FRUSTRATING. Now I can’t even get to that (or any) page of setup.

A friend told me to try restoring on iTunes, I’ve tried this but every time it got close (over 4hrs later) it popped up with an error message. Now it keeps asking me to connect it to iTunes and when the cable is connected I keep hearing the connection beep over and over again.

I still cannot get into my iPad because it is stuck on asking me to connect to iTunes, which it can’t hold it’s connection to!

I’ve tried resetting the iPad and closing and reopening iTunes but it’s still the same...I’m on day three of trying to get this dinosaur to work.

PLEASE HELP ME 😩

I think you need a new 30 pin dock connector cable to do this.

I think that 30 pin cable you have is the problem and it is old and possibly defective, now.

I would order a new cable from O W C and wait and try all of this again once you have a brand new cable.
