What software is available to replace BorderFX plug-in?

I have done some research among the Aperture replacement systems noted in this forum and found nothing that clearly handled this issue. Like others here, I need to have a clear path before crunch time.

I think I may be content with Photos. I am strictly an amateur with most of my photos being trips or family. The (default?) structure of how Photos handles these photos does fit my needs as far as displaying on my computer. Where it goes awry is really in metadata once the photo is not on my display. E.g., prints (I am an old guy and friends and family do like prints) or viewing via iCloud on an Apple TV. Perhaps the latter will improve shortly.

I did try PhotoMill. It did not handle all of the IPTC, etc. I wanted. I gave them feedback and am now reviewing their beta. It appears to do what I want via an external workflow.
