Disable volume buttons

Is there a way to disable the volume buttons on the iPhone XR. When I’m listening to Spotify and put my phone in my pocket, depending how I move the volume will shoot all the way up or down and is incredibly annoying. I’ve trying going to sounds and haptics and disabling the “change with buttons” feature and it does absolutely nothing. Anyone else found a fix for this?

Ringer volume control using the buttons is annoying for me personally because if I try to turn volume down on the home screen before I go play a video or music, then instead my ringer volume gets lowered. Then if I get a call, I won't hear it.

Im not sure why they don't include an option to turn it off. But you could suggest it as a feature request at the link below.

Case price is not really a factor here, but a case generally doesn't prohibit the buttons being pressed, but rather it reduces the ease of pressing them. I've personally never experienced accidental button presses of the volume buttons on my XR or my previous generations of iPhones. Out of curiosity, what way do you put your phone in your pocket (charger port down or up, also screen facing in or out)?

I have the headphones plugged into the jack when listening to music so the phone would be charger port up. Screen out seems to help a bit but I prefer screen in as I work in a auto detail shop and if bumping into something with my leg I feel better knowing it’s the back of the phone case taking the hit rather than the screen.
