Scanner reported an error.

Scanning with Samsung 3405W, via lan/wifi. Scanner scans, image appears fine on screen, but after that, the rather undescriptive meesage appears, and the scan is not saved.

Checked the security preferences - allowed Image Capture.app full disk access. Error remains.

So, it looks like you have the Apple application software firewall enabled. Is there any specific reason you need to use it? Regardless, I suggest that you temporarily disable it and see if this resolves the issue.

It is very possible that the firewall is blocking important communications between your Mac and the scanner ... and this could be verified by performing a data capture using something like Wireshark.

With both the fact that your Mac can "see" this scanner and that you can access it via your iPhone, tells me that it's not having an issue being connected to your local network.

The only thing I can think of to try first, is to completely remove this printer from your Mac, and then, add it back. Be sure you have the very latest printer drivers/associated apps for it from either Samsung or HP support. Hoping this is not a "casualty" of the take over of these devices by HP.

Thanks. I read the post. FWIW, I have an HP AIO and have no issues with scanning with my 2018 Mac mini running macOS Mojave 10.14.6. Maybe I'm just lucky. So far, the common thread I'm seeing is that this seems to affect mostly Samsung printers. I'm not doubting that you are having this issue, just trying to offer some things to try. If this is an Apple "problem" then there are avenues to get this to their attention ... if that are not already aware of it. One of them is to click on the Contact Support link in the upper righthand side of this webpage.

The post mentions resetting the Mac's printing system. Have you tried this as well?
