I am trying to update my Mac and its asking me for an administrators name and password what is that
what is an administrator name and password that is what the Mac is asking me
User accounts on a mac can be adminitrators or standard accounts.
The first account created on a mac is automatically an administrator.
If you are the sole user of your mac your account should be an administrator.
If not, then ask the person who set up this mac for you.
