hey guys,
i downloaded a image disk (.dmg) and i want to install it but cant. when i click "Open" it starts launching and then nothing happens.
might be a security problem (that i have to allow or something) ?
might be cause im running macOS high sierra ?
help me please
this is embarrassing... the problem was: i didnt move the the thing i was installing to the applications folder. its working now smh

I can't replicate that:
when I open by clicking "Open", it takes awhile but opens normally and you can install it (move to the applications folder.
Normally I just double click it (two quick clicks) and it opens much quicker and is ready for install (move to the applications folder).
Some dmg's however "open, but then you need to double click the opened file again, before moving it to the applications folder (looks like a sort of zip behaviour).
In Finder Preferences>Sidebar what all is checked in Devices?
