MacBook Pro requires a password to send mail

My MacBook pro suddenly started asking for a password to send mail. It does not recognize my password. I receive mail just fine. I can send mail on my iPhone and my iMac. Huh? How do I fix this?

For no reason I cannot send e-mails via my macbook. I can still receive them though. Ive not changed my password. Why is this ? For no apparent reason I am unable to send e mails via my macbook but can receive them. It keeps asking for my password which I havnt changed. Why is this ?

New password in Apple Mail preventing outgoing email I hope someone can help resolve a frustrating issue that I am encountering in Apple Mail. I have changed my password in 2 email accounts and updated all my associated devices. I now discover that I am unable to send email from 1 of these accounts on my Mac running macOS Monterey 12.6.2 although I can send email from this account from all my other iOS devices. Bizarre. Any ideas? Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
