Updated to watchOS 6 No Longer Get Notifications on Watch

I can confirm, that shutting down both devices and booting them afterwards helps. In my case I‘ve first turned off my Apple Watch and than my iPhone. After waiting a few seceonds, I started my devices in the same order (first the phone and then the watch). I don‘t know wether this workaround works only in this particular sequence. Anyway I‘m glad I‘ve got my notifications back on my watch.

A restart worked WONDERS! Shut them both down all the way. Wait a few seconds and restart. Sooooo glad I did not unpair...what a pain

I'm so glad it wasn't just me having this issue. I have an XR and a series 344mm and I updated both last night when I went to bed. When I woke up this morning no notifications on my watch which was strange. I unpaired my watch and re-paired it and still nothing. So in reading through all these answers I tried turning both my phone & watch off and I got notifications back. Thank you!!!

For what it's worth...unpairing and then going through the pairing process again between my series 4 watch and iPhone XS Max fixed the notification problem. They worked as expected when the phone went to iOS 13...it got borked when the watch updated to watchOS 6.

Shutting down both devices worked for me.

Again, I spoke with Apple. They are aware of the issue and are addressing it in the first update which should be within the next two days. Hang in there everybody.

Restarting phone and watch also worked for me. The watch seemed to take several minutes to resync all the data; the complications showed as blank at first. But that seemed to indicate that it was a kind-of reset, and it seems to have been successful.

Another forum I found said to do this, in order: turn off watch, turn off phone, turn on phone, turn on watch (once phone fully up).

I tried it and it did work for me. That's the only thing that did. I even had installed the newest update that supposedly fixed it and that hadn't worked.

I unpaired and re-paired and it happened again. On another site I found a solution that worked for me.

1) Power watch off

2) Power iPhone off

3) Power iPhone on

4) Power watch on

In that specific order. Worked for me.

Hey! I got it. You just have to unpair the watch and start pair again. Then you will get all notifications again.

I found something that worked for me for this issue. I disabled wrist detection, and then enabled it back. Notifications started again

I had the same issue this morning after updating my iPhone 8 Plus to iOS 13 and Watch Series 4 to WatchOS 6. I restarted both my watch and phone and it seems that the notifications are back now.

I tried unpairing them; restarting both devices and didn’t work. I did it resetting the watch as a new device and was the only thing that really worked. After doing that everything came to work fine!

Restarting Apple Watch and iPhone really does work. It’s working fine now.

I’d the same exact issue. What helped me was to unpair the Watch, reset it (and only it) and then pair it again without choosing a backup.
