Updated to watchOS 6 No Longer Get Notifications on Watch

I've tried all variations of shutting down and restarting and still not working. I'm trying unpairing and pairing as a new watch, will see if that works. Always on not working either. This is my first apple watch and i'm not impressed at all

Shutting down both devices worked for me.

Again, I spoke with Apple. They are aware of the issue and are addressing it in the first update which should be within the next two days. Hang in there everybody.

Did you try turning off both devices, then turn back on your watch and wait until it's fully on then turn on your phone? That's what worked for me.

Apple is aware of the issue and should have a permanent fix in two days.

Restarting phone and watch also worked for me. The watch seemed to take several minutes to resync all the data; the complications showed as blank at first. But that seemed to indicate that it was a kind-of reset, and it seems to have been successful.

I've tried everything. Restarting both phone and watch. Un-pairing and then re-pairing watch (twice). Resetting watch. Turning off and turning back on wrist detection. I get some notifications (like phone and text) now, but still not all that I did before or all that I want.

I am having this problem too. Does unpairing and repairing cause all your settings to go away? I have a bunch of apps and it would be a monumental pain to have to reset all my notification settings and everything else.

Update to iOS 13.1 to fix the issue.

The 13.1 update of iOS fixes various bugs and performance issues that were present in the initial launch of the software; the apple watch notifications being one of them.

Another forum I found said to do this, in order: turn off watch, turn off phone, turn on phone, turn on watch (once phone fully up).

I tried it and it did work for me. That's the only thing that did. I even had installed the newest update that supposedly fixed it and that hadn't worked.

I updated to iOS 13.1 and watch OS 6. Restarted both watch and phone. Turned off wrist detection and bluetooth then turned them on again after restarting both watch and phone. Still reminders not being synced.

hello, i went through all the answers, tested to turn off and turn back on my WatchOS6 series watch and my iphone XS 13.0, nothing changes, no notifications. I also tested to disable "wrist detection" and reactivate ... no effect, still no notifications ... Is this a bug known by Apple? Thank you for your feedback.

I unpaired and re-paired and it happened again. On another site I found a solution that worked for me.

1) Power watch off

2) Power iPhone off

3) Power iPhone on

4) Power watch on

In that specific order. Worked for me.

Nothing has worked for me. Turned off watch and phone and restarted, multiple times. Unpaired and repaired as same phone from the backup it creates. Nada. Turned off Wrist detection..Nada. Downloading iOs 13.1 update. Hope that works. I am getting text notifications ok, just not getting an alert that I want from one particular app and was working fine before iOs update. Triple check the alert menus on the app, etc. Nada

Ok update...Talked with Apple today. Got switched over to Sr. Advisor for the Watch. Discussed the lack of notifications on my one particular app which was Ring Doorbell. Phone and watch were not getting alerts from the app. Thought my phone was auto-updating apps but apparently not. So, going to the app store and looking at the app, they had an update 2 days ago. (oddly coinciding with the release of iOS 13.) Installed it and it still did not work. The advisor suggested I delete

the original app and re-install the new one from 2 days ago Restarted the phone and it started giving alerts again! The watch began giving the alerts as well. So, maybe check your apps you are expecting alerts

from and see if they have an updated version.

omg thank god i am not the only one. I am on ios13.1.2 - I have tried unpaired and paired for at least 10 times. NOT WORKING. tried everything: hard restart on both watch and iphone. and not only the notification function is gone, the "always on" function for the new apple watch series 5 is also gone! so frustrated!

The following has worked for me twice, so I’m posting for whatever it’s worth. Granted my “fix” only lasted several days, but it’s a lot less painful than unpairing and repairing.

Swipe up on the watch face.

Activate Do Not Disturb and Theater Mode.

Turn ringer off.

Wait a minute or so.

Turn Do Not Disturb and Theater Mode off.

Turn ringer back on.

Power off, then restart.
