Thanks for letting me know. Trying to track the problem down. Mine also works when not connected to wifi. Can I ask how many airport devices you have on the network? I have 10 and I I am wondering if it’s a layout problem.

I used to have six and am now down to just two. I have migrated to Ubiquiti UniFi hardware as Apple has gotten out of the networking hardware business.
The AirPort Utility relies on both Bonjour (mDNS) and IPv6 to discover the base stations. You may want to double-check your IPv6 settings on each of your base stations. They should be set to: IPv6 Link-local only mode as a minimum. I don't believe that you can adjust IPv6 settings on an iPhone. At least, I can't on my iPhone SE.
Might be worthwhile to post over in the iPhone or iPad support forum since this is an iOS issue, not an AirPort hardware issue.
For what its worth AriPort Utility works flawlessly on 2 iPhones and 2 iPads here, all running iOS 13.
For anyone wondering I have been able to recreate the problem. The airport utility app only crashes when you have a device (Airport express in my case) that is connected to the network wirelessly (wireless client in bridge mode) and there is an ethernet client connected to that device.
Same issue on iPhone 7 Plus. After update to iOS 13, my Airport Utility crashes after entering the password. Does it every time I try. Rebooted the phone a couple times but no change. Cannot access my expresses or Time Capsule because of this. I hope there's a fix on its way.
Just updated to 13.1 and problem is resolved. Now the battery is draining fast and its plugged in. At least someone found the solution to be able to move the icons around. They suggested disabling Zoom in Accessibility setting and it worked for me too. (Thanks PaulTJ)
I had exactly the same problem with my iPhone 11 Pro on iOS 13, Airport Utility would crash immediately after upon opening it.
I was able to work around that by doing the following:
• Open Airport Utility and look attentively at my collection of Airport Express for the half a second they show. It took a few tries to memorize their locations in the screen.
• Open Airport Express yet again and swiftly tap on the Airport Express of your choice.
• it will work and take you to its settings page. You can work there just as usual.
After doing this it is not crashing anymore upon opening it.
Update to ios 13.1(iphone xr)and it still not work(Time capsule and express)and crash...
We made for you Apple Arcade and tv+,but broke Airport utility, and now you couldn’t connect to internet! WTF Apple?!What’s wrong with you!
Yep. It works on my XS, but not on my 11Pro. Crashes every time it asks for the devices passwords, and does not display correctly what’s in a WiFi connection (dotted lines) and what’s in a cabled connection (solid lines). I’ve tried everything I could think of.
Sorry to be dense, but what do you mean by “the iOS 13 version 1.3.5 (135.24)” ... I’m looking at AirPort Utility in the App Store app right now and it says the latest version is 1.3.5 released 1 year ago. I also am having the same problem as Hamish, upon entering password in AirPort Utility, the app crashes.
Hi problem persist even after app deletion and reinstalled... with both devices iPhoneX and iPad both with latest iOS/iPadOS.
the only way to manage it is with MacBook Pro application otherwise I’m stucked.
please we need a workaround or solution since different person are still using Apple devices...
I have tried also to connect just 1 Apple time capsule and to connect to it but without success.
current network: 1 Apple express, 1 Apple time capsule, 1 Apple extreme for a total of 15 devices connected.
Bug reported for this issue:
“ Ik heb dit nu voor je geregistreerd onder incidentnummer 100912203237. Ik wil je vragen om dit even enkele dagen af te wachten en dan opnieuw met ons contact op te nemen. Op dit moment kan ik enkel bevestigen dat het onderzocht wordt.”
Apple support community cannot do anything about this issue as I keep seeing people saying delete this and try that. It’s obviously not working for a lot of people and Apple need to update the their app.
Same here; IOS 13.1.2 did not solved the problem. The app starts up, but after entering your login and password, the app crashes... another re-install does NOT works. But luckily the app still works on windows....
IOS 13.2 did not solved the problem. The app starts up, but after entering your login and password, the app crashes. Tried reinstalling the app On my iPhone 6s Plus, but that’s did not help. Luckily the app still works on Windows and the Mac
