iOS 13 Bug - Volume Control Indicator Keeps Popping Up

Just upgraded to iOS 13 last night. Now, the volume control indicator keeps popping up randomly no matter what I'm doing. It appears on the screen for a second, disappears, and a minute later does the same thing, whether I'm placing a call or looking at my messages. Is this happening to anyone else? Any thoughts on a fix? One thing I have noticed is that it doesn't seem to do it while I'm actually on a call.

I’ve got the same problem. Whenever my IPhone is connected to Bluetooth, the volume is constantly popping up. I’m usually connected to my car as opposed to headphones, but it’s nothing on the vehicle or the case on the phone. When i say constantly I mean literally every 15 seconds. It’s not from notifications or a dirty headphone or lightning jack. Started immediately after the iOS13 upgrade. The worst is when I’ll be reading a news article or something and every time I touch the screen to scroll it’ll pop up. Also pops up immediately after unlocking the phone. Tried rebooting numerous times, also tried to reset all settings. No luck. Only thing I haven’t tried is a complete wipe to start over. Please help me Apple Wan Kenobi! You’re my only hope!

Same situation here. Have the latest iOS. Just recently purchased a Sony wireless headphones. From what I observed, the volume window will keep on popping out while you are listening at a high volume. Not the maximum level, but the one before that. Tried listening around mid volume and it stopped doing it. Also it only happens if you are playing a song/listening. I think it’s a software issue. I have multiple Bluetooth headphones and other devices, this is the first time I encountered this issue. I hope Apple will resolve this immediately with an update.

PS. As of now, none of the solutions on this thread worked on me.

After updating to iOS 13.3.1, I have had constant volume issues. I don’t use a Bluetooth device. I have removed the case and done a reset settings to no avail. The volume button is at Max and I barely hear it. Calls have the same problem on speaker. My boyfriend has a naturally booming voice and Even he is hard to hear. Since this is my only phone, I will not send it off for service. I use my phone for everything. I am also reluctant to take it to Best Buy if just waiting for a new update will resolve it. Any other suggestions? FYI, I have gone thru Apple support.

Happens with me and my 2016 Tesla S with 2020.12.5 software. I’ve only had the car for a few months and I neither think I had this problem when I first got the car nor did it just start happening with the most recent car software update.

I’m parked with my car on right now and anytime I pause typing for a few seconds the ringer volume pops up with the volume at a low level. Once I start typing in comes up again with the volume at a higher level. My phone is connected to the car via Bluetooth and I can hear the typing sound coming out of my car speakers.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

The first message was posted in Sept. 2019. Now it’s almost July 2020 and people still experience the iOS bug about the annoying volume slider on the screen. How long does it take Apple to undo a function that is disrupting people‘s ability to use their iPhone without a volume slider that is in the way to do basic tasks.

This slider all in a sudden showed up yesterday. I have iOS 13.5.1 on my iphone. The sound is either on full volume or on silent. I have no control over the volume anymore. As a business owner using my phone all the time this is a major problem. Seeing that people are dealing with this since months makes me consider to say goodbye to iPhones. I can not afford to not hear my clients or have them scream in my ear on a daily basis. LMK, if you found a solution that turns the volume slider on the screen off for good. Thank you!!

Wait a minute I’m using this Sony wireless headphones aswell! But it’s a headphones and it’s wireless so this volume bar poppin up on the top is also on my iPad Pro 11 inch after I upgraded it to iOS 13 it started so I think Apple should consider this problem very important and try to add another update with the fix of this monstrosity

Yes, I’ve noticed it too. But I’ve also noticed that when it is visible, AND I’m backspacing in a text message, it actually makes the volume slider go up, i.e. it changes the volume.

I don’t think it is related to my fingers in advertently touching the volume buttons on my case. I have thought of that because that’s generally around where I rest my thumb, but I have noticed it does it even when I ensure that my thumb is away from those buttons.

I’ve had this problem for ages. I just noticed today that Spotify on iOS synchronizes volume remotely EVEN IF IT’S IN THE BACKGROUND.

That is, if I’m playing music on a windows machine, hit volume up/down on my iPhone, volume changes on windows. The volume slider on iOS appears when I change volume in Spotify on windows. Spotify doesn’t have to be in the foreground, just not force-closed.

It appears that Spotify periodically re-syncs the volume too.

“Solution” is to force-close Spotify.

Hello, hello! I just updated to iOS 14.3 and am experiencing this issue on my very new iPhone 11. All fixes listed previously in the thread did not work for me. Has Apple paid this any attention yet? Anyone had any other luck? I feel a bit upset that I spent as much money as I have on a product only to be immediately met with this problem. Thank you
