ios 13 Mail swipe actions
I could swear there were more available swipe actions (delete? mark UNread?) in Mail prior to ios 13.
Weren't there? Shouldn't there be?

I have the same issue. Now it takes 3 steps to delete an email where it was just one swipe. Same with iMessage. I used to be able to swipe to delete the entire thread now it asks me 3 times before it will actually delete. Also missing the mass delete feature for message attachments. Surely Apple didn’t go backward on these features!

There is no swipe option to ‘delete’. I don’t want to ‘archive’. I used to be able to use “All Inboxes” to see iCloud & Gmail and I was able to delete as I read - no more. I have to double my efforts to look at each one. Plus, I have to be under Gmail “All Mail”, not just “Inbox”, to be able to delete.
When I finally CAN put something in the “Trash”, I can’t just “Select All” and empty the trash - I have to do each and every one with a separate swipe - - REALLY ?!?!
Y’all have done nothing but make things HARDER with this iOS 13 - and I really dislike/hate it !!
+1 on all the preceding comments. Also, the option to Flag an email while reading it has disappeared. So, now I have to exit an email and return to the main mailbox screen to flag a single email. How could anyone think this was a good user experience? Please restore all the mail options y'all removed from iOS 12.x immediately!
This needs to NOT be the "Apple recommended" answer. It does not provide a solution, it only verifies the issue and increases the frustration over a simple feature that should not have been removed.
Apple,
I request you not go the way of Google. Instead, please restore the option to swipe to delete for both email and SMS.
Go to settings>mail>swipe and decide what swipes do.
Did that first.
The options are minimal and far fewer than I would expect, e.g., I cannot delete or mark unread.
Some of the swipe options are now inside the messages, inside the "Reply" arrow: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT207213
Add onto that, the swipe controls are somehow reversed in my system!?
Try going to settings>general>reset>and reset all settings if a forced reboot does not work.
I agree that not being able to delete an email makes no sense. Archiving junk emails makes even less sense unless you sell storage.
Before this iOS update, I often marked a single email in a thread as unread. Now the option exists only to mark and entire conversation as unread. Please return the option of marking a single email.
When is the fix to mail coming? This is clearly broken. Of course, since hardly anybody uses mail on iOS or ever deletes any emails [that was sarcasm] nobody would notice.
The closest I can come to using the available swipe actions is to set one of them to ‘move’. then swiping and moving the message to trash. not really convenient, but who said life was always easy?
That answer is about as useful as a chocolate teapot. There used to be an option of Delete. There isn't any more. Why did apple remove probably the most used option?
