Just received my iPhone 11 Pro and after a few minutes of light use, the back and sides heat up to where I can barely hold the phone. Any ideas?

I have read through all posts and want to offer my 2 cents
My iphone 11 pro was normal until I started using the keynote app. It heated up real fast to a point that it is uncomfortably hot (within 1 min). Whenever I switch to other apps, the phone starts to cool. If I switch keynote on, phone starts cooking again. That’s obviously very weird, then I found this thread.
So following the discussion, I made sure my iOS is up to date on 13.1.1. Then I checked my “battery” tab in the settings, 10 min of using keynote consumed 15% battery, while the whole day of using other apps only make up 85%. Keynote is essential to me in my job, so deleting it is not an option. I also didn’t want to “reset all settings”. Instead, I closed settings>general>background app refresh. That totally fixed the problem
To sum up, here is what you can do if your phone is heating up abnormally

I have just switched off Siri search and related info for each app and that seems to have solved the problem. I am sure it will overheat with one of the apps where I have left the Siri search on.
This does not seem like a good enough answer.
My iPhone 11 Pro also getting hot after took few photos.
This is really frustrating the phone gets very hot after using couple of minutes and I gather this is not all times it’s sometimes. I don’t know what to do?

i bought an i fone 11pro on recent black friday from mtn in south africa ‘ sometimes it heats up to the level that i cant hold it ! any solution or have I been robbed ????
I have the same issues too! I was using spotify and was playing music and it got hot after 5 minutes of music. This also happens when I watch youtube videos.

I noticed that I did not let the battery die out completely after I got it and it was getting super hot it almost burnt me.
did you let the battery die out completely?
My 11 pro max does get hot while charging but keep in mind it is a fast charging phone now. Other then that it never gets hot anymore.
There are few things you will do that are more processor-intensive than transferring data to a new phone, so don't judge it by that.
I haven't had any overheating episode since the upgrade to iOS 14, so far
Thanks for the info ! Wish I would have read this earlier before I went to the sprint store ! I will definitely talk to them about that if I still have problems !
